IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE

Marsha. K. had always been the center of abuse in her home. Even so, she stood with tranquility facing the world as it was, without a sign of complacency. Marsha was the eldest of three, so the attention she sometime wished for never embraced her. She had turn sixteen on the 3rd of October this year. Though her mind was always in turmoil, she loved life.
On the 3rd of November Marsha spoke her last words and took her last breath. On her way home from school that day, she was walking on the sidewalk. A young man came up behind her and shot her in the head. When the paramedics came Marsha had been long gone. It’s sad when you think you have nothing to lose………….you lose the most important thing……you lose your life.
There’s so much we’ll never know about Marsha. A week ago her youngest sister was going through her belongings. She found a book Marsha had been writing to the world. In it she wrote to the world her eulogy.

I was born on the 3rd of October 1994 to Marlette and David K. I started observing the world and all its aspects when I was barely five. I hope to live a long life being a humanitarian for my people and my country, but if I die young I want you to know my aspirations. Someday I wish to become a doctor for my country. I hope to be an advocate for youths like myself. Being a child of abuse I was still strong. Though we’ll never know how far I could have gone, the fact is, I wanted to get there. You all might say life is unfair. I must tell you life is just real. What I want to tell you is that if you have a dream and you think it’s out of reach think again. It’s not impossible.

Did a girl like Marsha deserve to die?

The crime rate in our country has certainly been increasing. Innocent people are being killed and they’ll never live their dreams.
MARTHA. J.
*18 year old college student brutally raped and murdered. She was about to conclude her associate degree in Primary Education. Why her???
RAFAEL. H.
*17 year old college student shot in the head and sodomized. He was pursuing an associate degree in Biology and Math. Did he really deserve to die so cruelly?????
DENEAL. C.
*I was hoping to say she lived, but sadly, she didn’t. she was killed a week ago while walking home from violin practice. She was practicing a piece to play for her Christmas concert.
It’s time we stop being a fragmented nation. I must tell you that all the characters in this story are fictional. Even so, these crimes are occurring through the world including this diverse country of Belize. Let’s no longer be fans of crime. Let’s work together to decrease the crime rate in this country. It’s not impossible.

WRAPPED UP IN DRUGS

My life is just a mess now
Cause I'm wrapped up in drugs
I never thought I'd be like that
Knocking around the streets and no place to go
Hey!!! It's kind of a nice feeling
But the aftermath is kind of scary
I started it when I was ten
Couldn't stop when I was eleven
Lost it completely when I was fifteen
The consequences I faced were not worth it
But I guess I'm simply too late
Hey!!! Wait!!! My name is Karlene Hamilton
I'm just a poet
Educating others about getting wrapped up in drugs

Journey Before Success

v  When you think of success you think of an accomplishment in life. Have you ever stop to think about the journey before you were successful?
v  I must tell you that in order for you to be successful you must be DISCIPLINED, DEDICATED and DETERMINED.
v  This journey is full of so many obstacles. It is us who must know how to approach or react to these obstacles.
v  There will be many individuals who will try to diminish your strength, but in reality, you are the only person that can do such thing.
v  Sometimes you feel like giving up, but don’t, because at your weakest point that’s when you’ve strongly hit the peek of success.
v  When you reach the top you will feel a great relief. You can finally sit down and admire your success.
v  NO!!!!!!!! That’s not the end of success.
v  It is important you travel back to where you were before you were successful, and lead those who need that guidance.
v  I believe that success is merely a cycle, or at least it should be. It never ends.

This diverse country has been a “successful failure”. I say this because we all separate ourselves into social standards. We help those amongst our group. We fail to realize that it is important we help everyone.  It’s important we unite as one people to make this country of Belize successful.
